Seventy-two-year-old Tamara dies and finds herself on a ferry which will take her across the river to the hereafter. On the ferryboat, she meets her first love, who was killed in a car accident when they were both young.

Tamara is presented with a fateful choice: start life over as a 22-year-old, the age she was at the time of the accident, and relinquish all her memories of the life she has lived with her husband and children. Or she can remain a seventy-two-year-old woman with all her memories intact.
